As most of you guys aware of, I do cover mostly on event photography and lil bit on the travel snap shots. Recently I always have this thought to try out on strobist or studio lighting photography which i totally have no idea how to go about.
I did some research and read here and there to know where to start about. I asked few of my friends and they said better to take up course with the gurus 1st in order to master the lighting perfectly. But 1st thing 1st, I gotta get a remote flash trigger, then a flash stand with bracket +umbrella or a soft box. With this setting I will be able to do a remote single flash shoot, and if I wanna get those studio style photos, i might need a couple of flash light more or a studio lighting setup. So I got my phottix remote flash trigger and the light stand set (without umbrella as they are out of stock)
So for time being what I am trying to do is to utilize my available resource to the max and attempt to quench out all that i can do with single flash before move on to the complete studio setup. Maybe one day, yea one day in near future I might buy a home studio set as well 🙂 . But before that, my full frame camera and L lens 1st 😛
What you are about to see below is my 1st remote flash portrait attempt. Please comment and critique about it.

Single Flash unit: 580EX II
Settings : 39mm, f6.3, 1/60, ISO 400

I can’t afford those high-priced photography classes, so next best thing is the old-fashioned school of hard knocks. Experimenting is always the best way to learn, and it’s surprising how quickly you can pick up things through trial and error.
Not a bad attempt, love, but there’s still a whole lot more room for improvement. Keep it up!
this is one of my dreams… i did suggest to my friends but not moving yet….i am getting a softbox soon and hope to borrow another flash… I have a friend who is in to try this too
