My N76 has been giving me more than enough headache than anything else from missing the phone calls because sometimes, it doesn’t vibrates or sometime, it turns off by itself. And yea, i missed many important calls because of that. I had the thought of getting a simple phone for the sake of answering calls and for sms purpose. But sometime back, I read that Steve jobs announced a good news that Apple is launching the new iPhone 3G.

The thing that caught my attention was the price, its starting from just USD $ 199( approx RM700) which mean its the cheapest and most affordable 3G mobile phone with the coolest features we can get in market. It was a real good deal for me ( and of course for you too unless you hate Apple). July 11 2008 was the global launching date for iPhone 3G and obviously i was kind of anticipating for the day as i cant wait to dump my irritating Symbian OS shit which irritates my soul.
No iPhone 3G for Malaysia!!!
But when they said Malaysia is not in the list for iPhone, my mood meter went down after i read something really sad and something that disgrace Malaysian mobile phone users. iPhone is not going to be launch in malaysia!!! There’s even an online petition about this on Facebook, read here .
The most sickening part is, the iPhone will be shipped to 70 other countries including Equatorial Guinea (20% population subscribe to mobile phone services), Guinea Bissau(mobile users: <10% of population) and Madasgascar (mobile users: 5% of population) all of the countries as mentioned have lesser mobile phone user than Malaysia if combined fixed-line and mobile cellular tele-density approaching 100 per 100 persons. source
Telco subsidiaries
I wonder why Steve Jobs come up with such decision? Or did Malaysian telcos had played some politic over this launching here, knowing their capabilities of being one of the best blood suckers compare to the Vodafone in UK. Well you might say why wanna compare with the europeans, but that’s the matter of fact. In fact UK people pays higher tax than we do and they earn the same salary range if compared with 1:1 ratio. Opps, I shall not do politics here and i should learn to be more patriot else I might be deported ( but, to where?)
If the they, they and they wants, we can have the iPhone here if its being subsidize a little bit more for us to sign up with a postpaid plan + a phone, but do you think its possible? haha, why not, they would!! In my dream lerr….But still keeping my fingers crossed, because…i really want it lah….
p/s: wonder why U mobile appeal for it since they are running solely on 3G mobile.

cool… but as you said… sad to here that malaysia is not included in the list when Equatorial Guinea & Madasgascar is…

I am guessing that they didn’t launch here because the response to the old iPhone was not good.It was a real flop, actually.
